My new favorite questions to ask people are:

What are you passionate about? What excites you? What in the past six months has made you feel alive? What made you think, “this is what I created for!”?

At CGA I took a class called “discover your calling”. We examined our passions, our skills, the world’s needs that set us on fire, and so much more. We slowly worked through these topics to come out with a statement that expresses our calling, like a sculptor finding the masterpiece that lies within the stone.

This is the statement I came up with.

“My calling is to usher people into radical freedom by creating a place for them to understand their worth as a child of God through vulnerability and counseling.”

Create a space. This is something God has continued to impress upon me.

I’m going to put this statement into action very tangibly in the Philippines. My job will consist of more than making the best lattes in the Philippines. I get to work with Bella Goose to create an atmosphere where people experience the presence of God. We hope and pray that this will be a safe place of employment for women who used to work in the bars and clubs. We hope it will be a place where men visiting Angeles City for sex tourism have an encounter with Jesus. We pray it will be a place of refuge for the women still working in the bars. We hope it will be a place where world racers and other short-term teams come and are pushed and grown and experience the Lord in new ways.

I’m so excited and incredibly thankful that I get to be a part of this adventure.

I’m excited for the Philippines and I’m excited to be part of creating a space that allows people to experience the love of the Father.

Soon I will begin an internship with Bella Goose in the Wisconsin Dells. But before that I need to finish raising support for the internship and the Philippines.

Here’s what I need: $1,323 more in monthly support. So if I had 26 people commit to donating $50 each month I would be fully funded.

If you believe in what we are doing in the Philippines, will you consider becoming one of those 26 people? And will you also join me in praying for the Lord’s continued provision?

And by the way, I want to know YOUR answers to this question – what in the past year has made you feel alive?
